{For Your Consideration}- HGZine

foryourconsideration_small.gif {For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes weekly on Mondays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

It was originally thought of that magazines should be only in print. Since the turn of the century, though, people have been thinking of ways to turn print into electronics. Newspapers and magazines have truly lost sales thanks to online outlets–and sites which pioneered the “subscription only” venue (like Time) have quickly regretted it. In today’s modern world, magazines are been made online and distributed online. One of the magazines we really like is HGZine (Handheld Gamerzine), an interactive magazine that has numerous previews, reviews, screens, and even videos embedded into the magazine.

{For Your Consideration}- Test Drive Unlimited

{For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes on Mondays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

The PSP racing category hasn’t really seen an interesting game since Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition or Need for Speed: Carbon hit last year. Fortunately for the PSP, there’s another one to finally add to the list: Test Drive Unlimited is the PSP-vert of the hit 360 game that pushed the barrier last year. Unlike other racers, this is the world’s first MOORG (or massively online open racing game). And that’s possibly what makes it such a fun game. (more…)

Returning Next Week: {For Your Consideration}

foryourconsideration.gif

My responsibilities on writing my weekly column has seriously been lacking, but I’m to start back writing as much of them as I can. My favorite was {For Your Consideration}, so I’ll start with that. Returning next week is the series, and I’m looking forward to it. The series will begin running for every Monday instead of Wednesdays (they. just. weren’t. working.) See you then!

For Your Consideration: WiiCade

{For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes on Wednesdays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

I was giddy earlier this week after lining up for 4 hours in the sub-zero degree wind chill weather to purchase a $249 Wii. I was even more giddy when I found out about WiiCade.com, a website especially formatted for the Wii Internet Browser, featuring several arcade games, all flash based. Unlike other sites that are formatted for internet browsers, this one is by far the best. Not only does it match all of the dimensions of the Wii settings, but the controller is very responsive to all of the games. This might just be the best thing that’s happened to me this week.

For Your Consideration: Every Extend Extra

{For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes on Wednesdays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

Last week, we had a very awesome look at Killzone: Liberation. Very few people have actually picked up that game; similarly, very few people knew of Q? Entertainment’s continuation of the PSP-puzzling business. After Lumines, the budget-priced Lumines II was announced, but not after Every Extend Extra or as we like to call it, E-Cubed. The game is truly a beautiful graphical experience, mixed with smooth gameplay and innovative controls. Who cares about Lumines anymore. This game is just powerful enough to become the next it-puzzler for our favorite handheld.

For Your Consideration: Killzone Liberation

{For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes on Wednesdays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

I apologize for this being late.

Every week, we try to open you up to something different. Last week, it was Perooz. The previous week, it was WarioWare: Smooth Moves. This week, we’re exploring a PSP game that is really exciting and enjoyable. I find it to be designed more like a 3rd person shooter than anything else, which may prove to be both a downside & a pro.

{For Your Consideration}- Perooz

{For Your Consideration} is a series that the blog writes on Wednesdays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

For a long time, PSP owners who make use of their internet have complained that SONY offers very few websites with good content–despite their recent efforts to bring the CONNECT service and a free PSP content area for the device. PSPMagazines, a site that launched last year to crowds and crowds of people, turned into Perooz late last year. The sleek, new look boasts portable magazines, along with content such as trailers & music for all to listen. This includes Maxim, Blender, Car & Driver, Road and Track, EGM, and others. The big names are clear representation that you should look no further than Perooz.

{For Your Consideration}- Meet WarioWare

{For Your Consideration} is a new series that the blog is beginning on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It will follow off-beat video game topics, current event rants, and other topics that I rarely discuss or that are unrelated to the blog. Enjoy!

Heck, call me a SONY fanboy. But, I refuse to love a console that’s worth way more than the time you actually have to play video games. The Wii is only $249, ingeniously designed, fun to play, and obviously unique in its own right. WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a Nintendo-developed game that first found its way to the United States on the GameBoy and then the DS. Now, Nintendo is saving what is truly the best in the series for the Wii itself. Smooth Moves is yet another collection of hilarious, yet challenging mini-games that pivots you into a world all by itself.
