LocoRoco Podcast #19

Ahh, the beautiful smell of the holidays: Before Thanksgiving, I planned an enhanced version of the podcast featuring simple moving slides using a nice program I found called Soundslides. Unfortunately, Soundslides (I came to find out) is not free and outputs its files to a nasty Shockwave Flash Object (aka SWF) file that is pretty much unable to convert. I’m going to work with a few media creators to get an enhanced edition out by the holiday season in order to improve the podcast further (the majority of suggestions given to me revolved around getting a video podcast), so please bare with me for the time being. For now, here’s podcast #19! (It will be uploaded in the directory ASAP…)

This is the description of the podcast found at Odeo: Just for you this Black Friday: LocoRoco rumors..bad PSP ads..whether to accept decent ratings as good..IGN’s not-so-pretty review of Sonic Rivals 2..talk of an enhanced version of the podcast..and more! Enjoy and happy holidays.

PODCAST: Our New, Official Super-Duper Directory

1_avatar.gif A nice note to our podcast listeners: we have a new, official super-duper directory up on our main site for your streaming and downloading pleasure. The directory features all of our podcasts, the majority of them archived, and features information and streaming. This doesn’t mean that you can’t still get your podcasts from our near-dozen number of directory sites (Odeo, ThePodLounge, iTunes, etc.), but BGL will be uploading the official podcasts up at this directory before anybody else gets a hold of them. Enjoy!

Newsletter, Podcast Restart

bgl_magazine1.gif

Are you ready? This November, BGL is producing its first ever made-for-PSP magazine, a successor to the successful newsletter which ended up with over 1,200 views in its three issues. The magazine will arrive in three different flavors as well as the lengthy and shortened version, featuring the usual reviews, news, and analysis, plus some user-content from the members over at BGL. You can enter the competition here, but only with a membership at the forums. A date will soon be announced, but the plan is to have it out the weekend before Thanksgiving (for our international visitors, that’s 11/22).

Moreover, that team podcast that was hinted at two times before is becoming a reality. Now that the software, news, and other problems have been solved, the plan is to get a date running and get everyone on the air. Even so, our regular/classic podcasts will be back this weekend with a lot of goodies.

I’m proud to announce that November will also host Reviewrama and the beginning of our much-anticipated Holiday Guide, which this time will be released in full length. Good things are coming at BGL, so stick around! :)

LocoRoco Podcast #18

Missed us? Well, we’re back, after much delay and much technical problems with our post-E3 podcast, our longest by far, rated at a hefty 34:31. Yesiree, I recorded this podcast 4 times, each with different subjects, thanks to technical difficulties and major uploading crisis’s. This is no disappointment, though! Enjoy!

This is the description of the podcast found at Odeo: This week in podcast number 18, everything E3 is analyzed, decrypted, and decoded: SONY, Nintendo, and Microsoft press conferences, a new PSP, what we think of E3 possibly moving again, the big LocoRoco PS3 game coming soon, Patapon and Echochrome impressions, a look at gorgeous SOCOM screenies, the introducing of an MGS: Portable Ops expansion, and more. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this lengthy podcast number 18. Thanks to ThePodLounge users for making us#9 out of 100!

Some publisher notes: I did still have technical difficulties; I’m still getting used to my new mike, thus, I have to adjust the distance between my mouth and the mike because it is actually quite sensitive. It’s great with noise cancellation, though, so I appreciate it more than one would think. Sorry for the big delay with E3 podcasts, as well. Enjoy and I’ll see you all soon! :)

Note: Podcasting/Newsletter Troubles, #18 and #19 Coming Soon…

NOTE: I have been having a bunch of podcasting troubles recently, particularly my inability to upload my original podcast #18 to my feed (after numerous attempts). I know what I now have to do, so I will soon be recording podcasts #18 and #19 for ya, filled with post-E3 goodness. And by soon, I mean presumably by the end of this work week, so I can get my podcasting back on track. I also had another set of problems with the newsletter, which was expected for June 10th, June 25th, and then July 1st–first of all, I lost a lot of data and was missing a lot of articles. Instead, I am planning to release the articles in what looks like a newsletter, except it will have a different feel. I’m working on a couple of new additions to both, so you can expect changes in the future. Stick around…

Get Loco Turns One: Favorite Podcast, Vote Now!

1styearanniversary.gif

As you know, Get Loco is turning one and we’d like you to vote in our Favorite Podcast poll (we’d really appreciate your help in choosing the winners). This is a change from the first poll, which was done on the forums, and is still running, by the way (you may see all of our upcoming polls here). Which podcast was your favorite?:

  • Podcast #1 ~ The classic, original podcast, which consisted of several different segments, including MuiMui Tips, our tips section of the podcast, was most definitely the best.
  • Podcast #9 ~ Where to find LocoRoco, Judgment Day (aka the reviews are in), and first impressions OH MY! The very first special edition podcast.
  • Podcast #11 ~ Our post-TGS podcast covered everything SONY, PSP, PS3, and video game-related imaginable.
  • Podcast #14 ~ This holiday podcast became our biggest and most-listened to; you must’ve liked it for a good reason!

You may vote two ways: anonymously by e-mailing us at contactlocoroco [AT] gmail.com or via comment. We would really appreciate your help!

LocoRoco Podcast #17- SPECIAL EDITION

Here we go: the big announcements & the beginning of our summer podcasts. In this podcast, you’ll find a bit better sound quality, thanks to a new mic. I’m working on configuring the microphone so I can bring the podcast to you all in different ways, but for right now, everything sounds good. Tell me how you feel about the brand new podcast :) .

This is the description of the podcast found at Odeo: To celebrate our anniversary and very big special announcement, here is podcast number 17, loaded with pre-E3 news, news on a Sonic Rivals sequel, the Killzone beta, Tsutomo Kounu’s recent interviews, mixed reviews for Hot Brain, Final Fantasy preorder information, and PSP Lite information. Enjoy!

Some publisher notes: New microphone, of course, and a few sound quality issues over my voice coming through to the microphone, but otherwise, everything sounds great. I had no technical issues. I decided to can my original podcast #17, as it was a bit rushed. Hope you enjoy it, and I should have a podcast down for next week to celebrate our anniversary. Big announcement= nice podcast!
