War of the Lions “one of the deepest games to grace PSP”

As breathtaking as it sounds, many are cautious to say that Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions will warrant a purchase, especially after the not-so-nice reviews for remakes of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. From what we have heard and seen at E3, and a new 2-page IGN preview, it seems that the game is shaping up to be one of the most beautiful games on the PSP, and not just during gameplay–a lot of the game revolves around deep cutscenes that tell a very good story. IGN ended up calling it “one of the deepest games to grace the PSP”. Thanks to this very in-depth preview, I can tell this might be the first Final Fantasy game I will ever own. War of the Lions arrives October 2nd stateside.
